How to I use BCC for a list, but allow the recipients name to appe

I am using a distribution list, but I am no longer allowed to use the "to"
option so I must use "BCC" ( I am in the military and it is a violation to
share everyone’s email address), but I've been told that using "BCC" looks
unprofessional because the recipient’s name does not appear on the email. The
alternative is email each one of a thousand people, one at a time. Any
suggestions?

Change one of your emails to a different name like Distribution list 1, or
what ever. Or, just make the TO to you and then bcc everyone.

Mail merge would be one preferred option, because it produces an individually
addressed message to each recipient. The other -- and one I'd recommend if
your list is 1,000 people -- is to use dedicated mailing list software,
preferably running on a server so you can hand off the mailing to another
machine to complete (and to process the 10% bounce rate you can expect). Your
organization may already have such a mailing list application.

Why can't you use the "To" field any longer?
