how to I retrieve a word document I have already deleted

I inadvertently deleted a word document that I was working on.....Now I need
to retrieve it....Does anyone know how to do this. thanks

If you haven't emptied your Windows Recycle bin you may be able to
restore it from there.
 
Try these steps I found in Windows help: 1) Locate the folder where the
deleted file was stored (on the network), right-click the folder, and click
Properties. The Properties dialog box will appear. 2)On the Previous
Versions tab, double-click the most recent version of the folder that
contains the file that you want to recover. A list of files that are stored
in that previous version will appear. 3) Right-click the file that was
accidentally deleted and click Copy. 4) Right-click the location where you
want to place the file and click Paste.
