how to hide an excel sheet

Is it possible to have an excel workbook and hide just one
sheet in the workbook so that it can only be viewed by
password? I know how to protect the sheet, but you are
still able to bring it up and look at it, but not modify
it. Can you help?

after hiding your worksheet you have to protect the workBOOK (goto
'Tools - Protection' to do this)

Protect the Workbook (same menu), not the Worksheet, and the user can't
hide/unhide/rename/move sheets.

It's not extremely safe, few things in Office are, but sufficient for most
cases.
