how to get to report designer in Access if that control is hidden

The first page on every report is blank in an application that was built on
an Access platform. I am guessing I need to tweak the report header or page
header but I can not get to any of the controls as the original writer of the
access file has hidden all the controls so that no structure changes can be
made.

If all he did was disable access to built in menus and toolbars in startup
properties you can just hold the shift key down while opening the file to
gain access to them. However; the use of the shift key in this manner is a
property that can be disabled. If the original developer disabled it you
would have to re-enable that key with code.

If what you are running is an MDE version of the file then you are stuck.
You would need a copy of the original MDB to be able to make any changes.

Thanks Rick...it is an MDE version and it looks like there are several .mdb
files that make up the appliation...so I am not sure how I would
proceed...this is a tool that several people use and all seems to run ok with
the exception that the first page on every report comes out blank.

After a little more research, I see there are products out there that would
allow us to open the file in it's .mde version and make changes to
reports...iehttp://www.everythingaccess.com/mdeunlocker.htm)

Have you ever used a product like this?

I did test one once to see if it worked as advertised and found that it did.
Don't remember if it was that one specifically.
