How To Get Rid Of XP Messenger

Can anyone tell me how to delete xp messenger. So I can
go to the web site and load a new one. I don't like the
way it stays on all the time. You try to shut it down
and it says no that other programs are useing it. I don't
like this new thingie.

Please reply to my email.....I've been in every nook of
this computer to get rid of it.....

go to outlook express click tool then windows messenger
then options In options dialog box click preferences and
uncheck all the check boxes
