How to get rid of SP4

Hello everyone,
Is it, at all possible to uninstall Service Pack 4 when
the person who installed it did "not" archive old files
before installing SP4.

I idea I read earlier above is start the machine with the Windows 2000 CD-ROM in the player and boot from the CD-ROM. Then choose repair. I don't vouch for this but it seems reasoable. Just get back to SP3 when you can.
