How do I get rid of the Windows Security Alerts icon on the taskbar? I
have auto updates turned off (using NetChk for updates), but the icon
comes back (with it's warning balloon) on every reboot. Thanks!

Click Start->Run: services.msc

Locate "Windows Security Center", doubleclick it. Stop it and select
"Disabled" from the dropdown box. This should disable it.

Or open Security Center in ControlPanel....
In the menu on the left there is a "Change how SecurityCenter...."
Uncheck all 3 (or however you want them to display)...
