How to get rid of about 3 inches of blue off on left side of docum

All of a sudden I cannot get a full page document--New--on my screen. about 3
inches of blue is on the left side of the page. I can get the right side
cleaned off
with the X. Can you help or explain why it is there??
 
What view are you in? Is your Word window maximized?
