How to get full path from filename?

How to get the full path(c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe) from
filename(rundll32)? I know that can be done using Environment Variables, but
the code is much, can it use Windows API or other simple way? thank you.

When I had clicked send it came in my mind that it was probably meant in
another way, however in my idea there is not a way that will fit especially
not in Countries as Holland where Dutch and English is used in a very free
style.
