How to get a report into a Word document?

Laurel

I have a report that creates a directory for our church. It would be
helpful to be able to put it into a Word file, but when I do that, it
sometimes prints things twice if "can shrink" is used. And it won't print
anything that has been manipulated in the detail.print event.

For Access, is there anything I can do about this? Maybe update the
application? (I dont know how to do that. I'm running 2007, but I don't
know how to find the patch level. In fact, I don't know how to find the
release. I just know it's 2007.

For the printer. The print dialogue has a "to file" option. The resulting
file has no extension, and when I open it with Word, this is what I see.
It's considerably more garbled in Notepad. I don't know what controls this,
but I'm using a Brother MFC-7340 printer. Would there be any relief on that
front?

TIA

Click the Office Button (orange-ish circle with 4 colorful squares) in
the upper left corner of your Access window. Then click "Access
Options" (at the bottom, just left of "Exit Access"). Then choose
"Resources" from the list on the left, and click the "About" button
(last one on the right). Look in the top of the resulting dialog to
find your Access release and service pack levels.

However, I don't know that either has anything to do with your problem.

It sounds like you're trying to print your Access report to a Word
document. I'll suggest you try exporting instead. With the report open
in Access, click on the "External Data" tab, then find the group of task
symbols above "Export". Click on the Word icon, and choose your options
in the "Export - RTF File" dialog.

Perhaps you'll get more satisfactory result by exporting instead of
printing. Let us know how this turns out.

Good luck,
Hans
