how to find version in ie 7?

I FINALLY got ie7 installed after reading the release notes. Have to
uninstall Zone Alarm (not just turn it off, gotta uninstall, and then
it won't reinstall until you go hunting thru the internet for how
to's)
So the first thing I wanted to know after reboot was whether it
actually updated from ie6. There's no longer a Help | About, so where
to you look to find the version now? Microsoft morons are always more
concerned about making an app LOOK different than actually making it
work.

There's no longer a Help | About,

Yes there is. Is your Menu bar not showing? If not, press Alt, when it
should be visible. Do "Help-About" and when you close that, the Menu bar
should disappear.....clever, eh?

"About" can be found in the "question mark in a blue circle" icon that
should be there in a default IE7 installation. Or right-click on the menu
area, check "Menu Bar", then the Help|About will be there as you've had in
the past.

As another ZA user, why did you have to uninstall/reinstall ZA?

Thanks guys. Craig, I tried ie7 about 3 or 4 different times. It would
look like it was installing, request I restart, when back up I still
had ie6. I disabled antivirus and Zone Alarm, no help. Someplace in
the release notes, or anyway where a help link in this forum pointed
me it explained that ZA had to be uninstalled for ie7 to install.
Then ZA didn't want to install after ie7 was in. Their Uninstall
doesn't get all of it. Maybe I should have shut it down before
uninstalling? Anyway, Googled Zone Alarm and found a help forum that
suggested renaming vmons.exe and shutting machine down. Then delete
C:\ProgramFiles\ZoneAlarm directory, then reinstall ZA. This finally
worked.
