How to find a folder

I know I will be told to use Agent Ransack, and OK, I will go get it, but
just academically, is there a way in Windows to search for a folder by its
name. Sounds easy, but the Search function seems oriented towards only
finding files.

When I open "search" there is a list and part of that list says
"Files&Folders"
Clicking on that and entering the name of a folder gave me the folder plus
files with the same name.
What else would you like??

Thanks Peter. That is what I thought Search could do. For some reason, it
seemed to let me down regarding folders on recent searches. I thought it was
going inside folders, but only coming back with files...
Glad to know Search is better than that.

Felicia--

You might check out these:

Google desktop http://desktop.google.com/
MSN Search Desktop toolbar

There is also Lookout--I like the name Lookout soft but I don't find this as
good as the other two and it's an Add In for Outlook and I'm not sure how
this is going to shake out given MSN's big push with a search engine for
Longhorn.

There has been much written about the inadequacy of XP Search--just one of
many features in Windows XP that could be so much better. It's slow and
erratic actually missing many many files in C:\Windows\System 32 for example
that I can find manually significantly faster.

Try Google Desktop Search and MSN Desktop Search.

Best,

You should be able to tell by looking at the icons........the file icons are
different than the folder icons.

I noticed that when I search Fonts" I get lots of "Fonts" folders,
but when I search "Temporary Internet Files" I get only one folder
even though there are several on my disk, whether or not I quote
the folder name.
