how to erase old Search keywords

I've used the Search function a few times in the past to find rogue files on the hard drive, now the keywords stay there in case you want to use them again.. how do I or where can I find where these words are stored to delete them? Some history folder somewhere?
 
It's not that easy. You can turn Autocomplete off in Search, you'll find it
under Change Preferences and that will keep those old searches from
appearing. The problem is that if you turn it on again your old searches
are still there. In order to delete them permanently requires a registry
edit. If your up to it, those old searches can be found at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru
