How to downgrade from...

im trying to downgrade from sp2 down to just windows xp because i
believe msiexec.exe aka windows installer has been corrupted, which now
wont allow me to recieve updates from windows, if anyone knows how to
downgrade or better yet fix this problem please post.

If you created an uninstall directory when you installed SP2 you should be
able to go to Control Panel / Add Remove Programs, Highlight SP2 and click
remove.

Whenever you have any corruption, the best solution is to reinstall that
component. In your case, try reinstalling the Windows Installer
software downloadable free from MS website (validation required!!).
