How to disable the shortcuts of excel files created by MSExcel 20.

I found that MS excel 2003 creates a shortcut of each file created or saved
in some perticular location. I want disable this functionality. Can anybody
help me?
 
Any chance the registry setting

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\General\RecentFiles

doesn't point to "Recent"?
