Outlook 2003 automatically changes received e-mail into Plain Text,
regardless of setting in Options. How do I change the Registry to prevent
this?

Hi Vince,

Merry Christmas and Hapy New Year to you too! I've triple checked all the
drill downs, and here is the current Registry Key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD of AutoFormatPlainText
Value of 0

The drill down menu for Outlook 2003, Tools, Options, Preferences, E-mail
options and the option to read all mail as plain text is not checked.

From all I have read, e-mail should be received as the sender formatted, and
that is exactly what I want, regardless of security issues.

FYI: I am using a recent clean install of XP Pro Svc Pack 3, and Office
2003, both with all availlable updates. None of which failed to install.

I do appreciate your help, and understand the amount of time it takes to do
so.

Thanks,
Dave

Do you have any anti-virus programs that might be getting in the way?
