How to delete infected Temp files?

Z

Zoltan

After what seemed an endless day cleaning an infected PC (Nimda, PE Pirate.A.B.andC) the temp folder still contains 12 infected
files which will not allow me to delete them.
It is all that remains, I believe.
Is there a reg hack that I have missed enabling the virus to protect these files from deletion? A Key or String value needing to be
deleted first? I have already deleted one after reading through a couple of removal walkthroughs.
The system runs Win XP Home. Totally updated from WinUpdate. Restore is turned off.
Any help from someone who has had past troubles with deleting temp files would be infinitely appreciated!!

*Which* files? *.tmp ones? Some av programs do have problems deleting
Parite (upx-packed tmp-files); furthermore Parite ist memory-resistant).
But good programs like Kaspersky can delete it (system should be in safe
mode).

Another important point: if you deleted everything (in safe mode),
disable the system recovery feature of Win XP (oh, I see, it's already
disabled). Then reboot.

By the way, apart from virus problem: the header of your posting is
broken, Mime-Version, Content-Type, charset and
Content-Transfer-Encoding are missing.

They are*.tmp, so shall prescribe to delete them in safe mode. Thx.

I swear I never touched it! ;)
How did it break? I am sorry that I lack that knowledge. I would most certainly fix it, and try to ensure it won't occur again, if I
knew how...can you help?
