how to delete incorrect auto fill emails?

I am stumped. If I have ever typed out an incorrect email
address, only to have it bounce, that email address comes
up forever in my email auto complete list irregardless of
wether it was 1)just typed in incorrectly ONCE or 2) is an
old contact whose address I've changed (in this case i get
the option of selecting every email address ever used for
that contact). How can I correct this?

When the suggestion list comes up, highlight it using the arrow keys, and
hit DEL.
