Hope someone can help - I'm very new to excel.

I'm trying to set up an idiot-proof file in which people can lo
attendance data for their employees. I've got a database which ha
loads of info on people - age, sex, section they work in etc - ideall
I want someone to be able to type in 'male', and have excel go an
interrogate the database (currently on a separate worksheet) and creat
a list of all the male employees. Is this possible?

Cheers,

Hi,

you can also use PIVOT TABLE, to get in seperate sheet.

Try it out.

I don't want to just find/filter the data, I want to find particula
data in a cell, then copy across data from a cell adjacent to it, fo
example if someone has 'Male' written in the gender column, I'd wan
their name copied from the adjacent 'Name' column to a new list of al
men
