How to copy custom menu

I have a custom menu stored in a custom template and have been using it as an
add-in for years. Within the past week, menu commands have started randomly
disappearing (as have the macros associated with the menu commands).

Since I am suspecting corruption, I created a new blank template and have
copied all items into the template, but I don't see a way to copy the custom
menu. Is that possible or do I need to recreate it?

You don't mention the version Word you are using. Below is for 2003 and prior
but should indicate a process for 2007 as well.
If you have named the custom toolbar you can use Tools, Templates and
AddIns, Organizer, change the "Toolbars available in" box to the old template
and the new template (you have to close file, then open file to do the
change) and copy over as appropriate.
