how to convert text deliminate file into excel

I received two attachement in excel format. When I open the attachments they
were in text deliminate status. I tried saving the files to excel and word
but the file still reflect the text version.
 
Why are you posting this in an Access newsgroup? Are you using a Microsoft
Access database in this process? Access is a database application that is
part of MS Office Professional.

If not, please post your question in a newsgroup related to the software you
are using, Excel or Word.
