you can probably export your contact list to a excel file or text file. File
/ Export and then follow the wizard.

Go to file, then export, then other, then comma delimited, then save, then
open with Excel, then do your mail merge or whatever. It's a great way to
have a file where you can use the find function for any combination of
letters which gets you out of the straightjacket of OE's funny way to let
you look up people or emails.
