I'm using Access 2000 on Windows Me.I'm trying to link to the tables on the
Oracle server from Access.the DSN setup dialog requires the server
name, can I find the server name in NetHood folder? Do I need to install the
Oracle client or components ? My system uses a static IP address and is
connected to the Oracle server through a gateway.

Thanks

You may not have to install the Oracle client, but it is possibly the
easiest way to get the ODBC driver and DSN set up. That said, ask your
system administrator for the specific information for the database that you
are trying to connect to, as there may be several of them, and you may also
need to have him set up permissions for you to connect to the Oracle DB.
