How to config an MX record in the Hosts file

L

Luis Mamani

Hi,

I want to send messages to domains that are not included
in the DNS. So, I want to create a MX record in the Hosts
file. Aditionally, What do I need to do in Registry, so
Windows search the hosts file first, and then the DNS?.

Thanks,

LM

You want the impossible. "HOSTS" contains direct address->name (and
name->address) mappings. It does not, and cannot, contain SMTP Relay server
mapping information.

Add the information, that you want to add, to your DNS database.

You can't put an MX record in your hosts file - all you can do is map a name
to an IP address. I'm not sure what you're trying to do...when you say the
domains are not included in the DNS, do you mean these domains do not have
MX records in their public DNS? Where are they?
