Hi together,

I would like to know how can I close the ports 135 and 139. They seem to be
opened automatically by target designer.
How can I close it in the component?

Musketier,

If you are running at least SP2 you have a nice UI on the TD side. Open up "Windows Firewall and Internet Connection Sharing"
settings and you should be able to adjust the status of Globally Open Ports there.

Or you can either edit the netfw.inf, modify the firewall registry entries or use an utility like icfutil.
Here is a couple of articles that go through the firewall setup on SP2 in details:

Hi,

sorry KM, I did not mention that it is on a SP1 image. No firewall on the
system.
Port 135 and 139 are used for SMB/Netbios, am I right? Neither the first nor
the second one is needed.
Is it possible to close the ports on a deployed image anyway?
