How to close down personal data file correctly?

Every time I try to open outlook it is telling me that the personal data file
was not shut down correctly. Could someone please tell me what that is all
about?

This is causing the program to check for erros everytime it is opened and I
have no idea what to do about it.

Something is keeping Outlook open when you think it has closed. See if
