How to close a socket nicely in a multithreaded application

Hy,

Is there anybody who seems to have working code to close a socket in a
multithreaded application.

When I try to close,shutdown or disconnect the socket, it starts throwing
all kind of exceptions.

Anyone who has experience with this ?

well what exceptions are you getting? How are you creating the socket and on
what thread? what thread are you trying to close it on? A little more
information would be helpful. Thanks
