Hi all

is there a way to clean the Win2K registry without doing it manually? there was such a utility in Win98..

Thanks, Rob L

Unless you have some compelling reason, it's best to leave the registry
intact.

You can download a utility called cleaner. It will do the
job for you but as mentioned, altering your registry can
harm your system if you don't know what you're doing.

Hi ,
Yes there is a way to clean up the registry, there are reg-
cleaners available from www.tucows.com website. Cleaninig
the registry is a good thing to do every so often. Best
programme Ive seen so far is a prog called PCBugDoctor, it
will clean and fix most registry faults. Ive also heard of
a programme called regcleaner and Ive used it, but it cant
cure everything and sometimes it helps to DIY..with some
help!

You should consider Dave Patrick's advice very carefully. But being
that you will most likely ignore it and go ahead anyway you should know
that many of these cleaners cause more problems than they fix.

You can try these:

RegCleaner: http://www.soft32.com/download_101.html
A pretty good and pretty safe cleaner.

RegSeeker: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm
In my opinion one of the best and most powerful while maintaining a
certain degree of safeness, may require a bit of care when using.

If you don't have Office XP on your machine you may try MS RegClean
available here: http://www.softrom.ro/239.asp This is one of the most
basic of registry cleaners and is fairly safe but it only cleans the
most obvious errors, it is not as thorough as the others.
