how to chck 4 bad nic on printer

I have a hp business inkjet printer that I need to put on
the network. I need to install it on the network, but the
nic might be bad. How do I check to verify this. If I
can install it would it be best to put it on the server
and share it? any comments are appreciated
 
Sorry, You will have to attach it to the network to test it. There may be
diagnostics in the driver software, but the easiest way is to assign it an
IP address and try to ping it.
