How To Change Windows 2000 Cached Account Password

Here is the problem: I have a remote user that is in the
office 3 to 4 times a year. This user is using a cached
account to log in to the notebook. The user then uses VPN
to connect to our network, here where th problem comes
into play, user account passwords are changed every 30
days. Remote users call in to have the password changed.
With the cached account and vpn( with vpn the remote users
are using the cached account with the old password to log
in and then the new password is used with vpn) the
accounts are getting locked out in AD. Is the only way to
fix this problem by having two accounts on the notebook
for the user, one for the local and one for the domain, or
is there a way to sync the domain password and the cached
account on the notebook remotely.

I have never heard or read of a way to do that. You may want to disable
cached logons and give the users a local account on their laptops. They could
use the same user account logon/password for the local account. Then they should
change their local password via CTL -ALT-DLT to match the new domain password
before trying to use vpn. -- Steve
