Is it possible to add buttons (e.g. for running a macro) to a PowerPoint
toolbar?

José,
Yes, rightclick next to any toolbar choose customize, choose the commands
tab, select the macro category - drag your macro to the toolbar of your
choice. If you want you can adapt the button, right click again and change
whatever you like about it.

Thanks, Luc, but my problem is: how to keep this button/toolbar in a template
that is distributed to somewhere else?

Sorry, forgot to mention that my problem concerns templates that have to be
transported to another network.

Unlike Word, PowerPoint won't automatically run code in templates, and it
doesn't make commandbars/buttons appear or disappear automatically depending on
customization context. Instead, you'll probably need to create an addin.
