How to change the default, "File" "Save as type: "

The default is: "Web Page, complete (*.htm, *.html)"

I NEVER USE THAT option.

I ALWAYS need to click down and pick the third one down: "Web Page, HTML
only (*.htm, *.html)" or sometimes the archicve single file .mht option which
is second on the drop down list.

Sometimes my work requires I go to a site and download the weekly articles
from it. So I have to click open a bunch of pages from the links on the main
page, and then save them to read later. This would be SO EASY if I could just
click the "file" toolbar button up-top, and then "Save-As" and having
already had the location loaded hit "SAVE" and be done. Do each of the 20
pages the same way.

Of course it goes without saying that it would be even better if I didn't
have to hit the "FILE" toolbar button at all and instead could use the
"Control S" function to handle the "save as" utility since the "SAVE"
function is not even an option and so it can't be used for "SAVE" anyway. It
should be optioned out for "SAVE AS" in these circumstances....

SO - ANYWAY TO CHANGE "SAVE AS TYPE" to default to "Web Page, HTML only
(*.htm, *.html)???

THANKS

Hi,
I've seen this question a number of times. I don't think I've ever seen an
answer.

Possible workarounds:
Go to the first (index) page. Click on (IE Toolbar) Favorites> Add to
Favorite> Make available offline> Customize> Next> Yes> "links deep" 1

Another possibility for saving pages to view later...
One of these free programs:
I've used WebReaper (freeware) from
http://www.webreaper.net/download.html
Also, HTTRACK (WinHTTrack) has received good reviews.

Hope this helps,
Don
