How to change shapes for Cell Comments

J

Jan T.

In Excel 2000 you can insert a comment in a Cell, mark the Comment border
and then chose from your Draw menu/Change AutoShape/Basic Shapes.
Then the Comment change from a square to any shape you chose.

Is this also possible to do with Excel 2007?

Any help is very much appreaciated.

Jan

I don't do too much with XL2007, so I don't know if this is the best way or
not, but it does work. Click the down arrow on the QAT and select "More
Commands" from the popup menu that appears. Select...

"Drawing Tools | Format Tab"

from the drop down on the top, left side of the right-hand panel, then
select "Edit Shape" from the listing under that drop down, then click the
Add button. That will put a new icon on the QAT. Select your comment border,
then click this new icon and hover over the "Change Shape" item until a
fly-out panel appears with the shapes you can pick to change the Comment's
border to... pick the shape you want.

Found this on the WEB:

Changing shape of comment box
Go to the office button (Top Left corner of Excel) and click the Excel
options button.

Click on the Customize option.

Change the "Choose commands from:" select to the "all commands" option.

Select the "Edit Shape" title, click the "Add" button to add this
function to the "Quick Access Toolbar", and then click the OK button.

Select the cell with the attached comment and press Shift + F2 to edit
the comment.

Click the comment's border to select the shape.

Click on quick access button "Edit Shape" command button on the "Quick
Access Toolbar".

Choose the shape desired.

Job done ;o)
