How to change frequency and resolution

How to change frequency and resolution in Safe Mode?

I just bought a new computer with xp load. I didn't buy
the monitor b/c I have an old one. So,
When windows starts I can see the OS loading but when it
should ask for the user I can't see anything.

I think this is the config of the monitor. When I pick the
safe mode, I can't change the config, the options are
enable.

How can I solve this?

try uninstalling the monitor in safe mode. Maybe when windows loads up the
next time, it'll load up a generic monitor driver, and be on basic settings.
just a suggestion, im no expert!!
