How to change check box name using mouse and keyboard

I have a chart with many forms controls on it (check boxes). I need to change
the names of some of check boxes from system assigned "Check box nn" to more
meaningful, like "cbBrightness". I know I can write a macro which will do the
trick for me:

ActiveSheet.Shapes("Check Box 19").Select
Selection.Name = "cb75GlMag"

will change name of box "Check Box 19" to "cb75GlMag"

two problems:

1) After some tweaking I ended up with two check boxes with the same name
(cbDuplicatename) so my code gets confused and does not work. I need to
change the name manually, using mouse and keyboard.

2) I just need to learn how to change control properties manually. I believe
I knew it at some point but now it just hitting a black spot in my head
(where others have brain). I know it is not a right way to use macro for such
change...

Patient guidance is very much appreciated...

Hi,

To change the name of a forms control select it and use the Name Box, next
to the formula bar.

To change properties select the control and press CTRL+1 to display the
format dialog.

Cheers

YES!!
Of course it is in the name Box next to the formula bar, thank you!

To change properties I was trying to right-click control and select Format
Control, but on the property tab there is only size/don't size and print -
nowhere did I found a chance to edit the name... right-click seems and Format
to bring me to the same dialog as Ctrl+1... Anyway, I am all set with that
question, thanks again!!
