How to change "author" staus

A previous user's name is appearing in the "author" field and path
directories of my word documents. This was brought to my attention last
week. Is there a simple and efficient way to change the author field in
previosuly generated Word documents. I've written over one hundred Word
documents that have this past users name in the document path and author
fields.

I'm really, really hoping there is some solution that avoids the tedius task
of changing the author field in each individual document.

Click on FILE in the menu, select PROPERTIES and click the SUMMARY tab.
Retype the author info in the Author field.
 
There are macro methods for doing this, but if you're not familiar with
writing macros, doing it the hard way will probably be quicker.
