How to change :-) and :-(

Within Word 2003 and Outlook 2003 running on Windows XP Professional, what
has to be done to change :-) and :-( to their corresponding face? Thanks!
 
This works the same way in Outlook except go to Options -> Spelling. I had
to add in the ones that were missing. Thanks for the help Anne!
 
Help! I know about autocorrect options...but when I type in :) a J pops up?
Not a smiley face. Can anyone help me?
