Hi,

Recently, I do not know which action triggered it, but I have to enter
the password, after going out of the screen saver, before I can use the
computer again.

I realise this is a useful function when someone is in an office and
wants to keep things private while he goes to the toilet.

However, I do not need it.

Please tell me how to cancel this function, so that I can just touch the
mouse or keyboard in order to close the screen saver and be working
again.

Many thanks

Rex.

Right click the desktop, properties, screen saver tab, uncheck the password
protect(or welcome screen) box.

You may have turned on the password requirement for you screensaver.

Right click your desktop and choose properties, select the Screen Saver tab,
see if the box On resume, password protect is checked.

HTH,
Dave

Many thanks to all who responded. I had been looking into the settings
for the screen saver, and overlooked the main window you mentioned.
Rex.
