Hi all.
Using Firefox with Proxomitron and the free Outpost v1 with plugins
active and most ads seem to be blocked ok.
One site that I need to visit regularly has some large (and seemingly
useless) images that I would like to not have to load/see. If I use the
Ads plugin trashcan to put the image info into the blocker it doesn't
make any difference. Likewise if I put in the image size.
Anyone know how I get this to work ?

Regards and thanks,
Stom

I use adblock and filterset.g and that is good enough for me without
having to tweak anything.

Can they block foreign words (say Chinese)?

Don't know what the problem there is, but you might try WebWasher:

Also, here's a really good FF tweak that I use. It really clears out the
junk:

http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/adblock

and it looks like you could easily add another image size to the list.

I don't reply to trolls like Andy Mabbett or Doc (who uses sock puppets)
for instance. No adware, cdware, commercial software, crippleware,
demoware, nagware, PROmotionware, shareware, spyware, time-limited
software, trialware, viruses or warez for me, please.

A little custom programming for Proxomitron. There should still be
some Prox fora that could help you with it.

If you mean _all_ images from a site:

Proxomitron (in tray)
R-click | Edit Blockfile | Noimages
and read the instructions.

I guess that would depend if filterset.g downloads adblocking rules for
Chinese? It would be possible, but I don't know who updates the rules
for filterset.g. I just know that it works great! And that I never have
to tweak anything to block adds.

Thanks for all replies.
Have now switched to Adblock Plus for a try-out but I would have liked
to get the Outpost Ad blocker to work 'cos I sometimes use Opera.
Unfortunately Adblock not available for Opera. Pity, that!!

There is an adblock for Opera called OperaAdFilter.

Here's a link: http://www.operaadfilter.com/

Been trying that but not having much luck blocking individual images.
Also used the riched-thing for 98SE.
Just couldn't get the blocker to respond to clipboard. Even edited the
filter.ini file to add image addresses but still no go.
Pity. Seemed like a promising utility.
