Publish your web to another folder on your HD, then burn the CD from that folder.

I simply have the last several version of my site on my PC...and I do a
Norton Ghost copy to a removable HD periodically.

If you create and modify your site at your local level, you already have a backup
Website goes awry publish from your local, local goes awry, publish back to your HD.

still doesn't hurt to have an occassional backup just in case your (read: my) Publish Finger goes awry :-)
