how to avoid MSN home page IE after installation of AS

After installation of Antypyware, the Start Page of the IE
changed to the www.msn.com when the previous was Google.
Even more, the name appeared washed out, in grey color,
i.e., blocked. Conflict with SpyBot S&D?

I have removed the Giant AS software, because of that. Any
help to re-install it controlling my own desires? Thanks

Did you run the browser hijack tools and tell it to restore? If so, that's
what changed your home IE page. Check the settings on that page and it will
show you what is currently set and what it will be set to if restore option
implemented.

I saw similar behavior, but it was because the app saw that the home page
and search page may have been hijacked as one of the known hijackers was on
the set (I had already killed those services). Even it if was likely, but
it did not happen, it just resets it to msn.com. When I saw this, I was
allowed to reset it in the dialog though.

In defense of the app. If it thinks you have been hijacked, how would it
know you have the right start page? It is safer to set the browser to the
default value, which was MSN. Even if the set was built with a custom
install.ins, it will still set it to MSN (the set I got a positive on was a
Dell built with the OEM kit).
