how to automatically compare two word documents/how to create aglossary

dear all,

two questions:

question 1:

i have two word documents, and each one of these documents is a manual
for a specific equipment, let's call them equip1 and equip2. what
happens is that we have updated equip1, and therefore its workflow and
consequently its manual have changed.
the equip1 manual is now quite similar to the one of equip2, and i'd
like to know if there is any possibility to automatically see what is
the text/sections that match in both documents, without manually
having to go through them, or without printing them and perform a
manual check as well. is this possible using office xp suite?

question 2:

for both manuals, i want to do a final section, where each important
word/vocabulary/technical term appears listed and in this list, the
pages where these vocabulary appears, are listed. as an example:
GPS, page 2, 57, 101...
IMU, page 7, 9...

how can i do this? thanks for the attention!
success!

Assuming you're in Word2003,

1. Tools > Compare and Merge Documents (see Help for instructions)

2. Insert > Reference > Index and Tables (see Help for instructions)
