how to append index key to the field in access

Hello ..
Please Can Help me in my qu. :
How to append index key to field in access but this field that contain data
and the access apper message :
(((The changes you requested to the table were not successful because they
would create duplicate values in the index ,primary key , or relationship
..Change the data in the field or fields that contain duplicate data , remove
the index ,or redefine the index to permit duplicate entries and try
again.))) I see the data in this field but I do not see any duplicate values
????
