How to anchor a blank slide so it stays put when moving an image?

Is there a way to change the settings in ppt 2007 so the blank slide doesnt
move if you try to move a larger-than-slide image off to the side? Its
driving me crazy trying to resize imagaes by hand and having to zoom out to
40% just to see where my slide went!

Thanks!

I have SP3. I assume that the fixes for SP2 would also be there - is that
incorrect?

Thanks for your reply echo!

It's incorrect. Echo's referring to SP2 for Office 2007, not Windows or any
earlier version of Office. There is no SP3 for Office 2007.

It is installed. I can temporarily shrink the object, but I would really
like to find the fix for this issue. I work with PPT a lot at my university
to create content for workshops, and mine is actually the only machine in the
building that has this issue. I dont suppose theres a way to reset the
program to original settings or something like that is there? It seems odd
that after installing SP2, its still doing this when no other machine is.

thanks!

Just to be sure, after downloading, you installed it, right?

What if, instead of moving the large image off to the side, you temporarily shrink
it?

I generally insert screenshots in 90% of my slides, so by default they start
out way too large. The annoying part is clicking the corners and resizing
them, because I have to zoom out to 40% to find them. Thats why I want to be
able to lock the blank screen. being able to just drag the image intil I can
line it up, click a corner, and resize it would be a lifesaver. I need to be
able to eyeball the slides becaause I crop them at times as well.

I'm not sure why it's doing this but I'm also trying to get a handle on what you're
doing when it happens. Are you deliberately inserting an image that's larger than the
slide (e.g. so that the slide only shows part of the image), or is it just the nuisance
of getting hold of the image corners to resize it once it's inserted?

Thats what Ive been doing to get around the problem I mentioned. I know all
the ways to resize images, but I was just ticked that I lost the one that
worked best for what I do. Thanks for the tip though.

You can rightclick the picture immediately after inserting it, then choose Size and Position
and set the size to whatever you need.

Or have a look here:

TIP: Resize images to fit the slide
http://www.pptools.com/starterset/FAQ00031.htm

or here:

TIP: Make several images the same size
http://www.pptools.com/starterset/FAQ00034.htm

The Starter Set add-in these pages mention is free
