I will be upgrading my harddrive to aprox. 6gig. I currently have a HP VECTRA VEi7 with 64mb RAM. I would like to ditch win98 uppon replacing the hard drive (start from scratch) but am unable to have a techy install the OS. I would like to know what to do to instal the new OS (winXP)? I have CD drive. Can you give me details of what to do so that I can print?

A 6 gig hard drive is not large enough to effectively use XP. You will also
need to at least double your ram. To effectively upgrade a system like yours
would be close to the cost of a new entry level system with XP
pre-installed. Reinstall 98 and save for a new system or larger hard drive
and ram.
