How Stop Disk Check at Start Up?

My XP has started automatically initiating a disk check at start up. How
can I stop that?

This started after I scheduled disk check at start up in my Norton System
Works/Internet Security, but the check takes too long. I went back to
Norton to find that auto check at start box unchecked by default, but the
auto checks continued even after I left that check box blank. The disk
checks appear on a screen labeled XP, not Norton.

Hi,

Open a command prompt and give this command chkntfs /x c: and hit enter.
(If C: is the command you ordered a chkdsk /r on.)

Hope that helps,
