Hi - using FrontPage 2003.

I was forced to download my web site from the live site when the web
developer quit and would not give me the local disk version of the site.
Since then I can't get shared borders to work, they all change
individually - how can I get them to all share the same borders again?

I'm having a similar problem with an imported custom linkbar - when I first
downloaded it, I could not modify it so I deleted it. I have tried creating
a new one but it is always the wrong size (too big) and there are no
controls to re-size it - what am I missing? thanks!

Does the remote server have the FP extensions? If so, then open the site
directly on the server in FP, then publish it back to your local machine.

Brad, have you guys figured a way to tie in quickbooks databases to frontpage with high security filters user name pass entry etc?
Specifically, is there a module that does online credit card transactions for QB 04 pro and also allows a given user to access customer detail sales summary ONLY real time
Saw your tag and wondered if you knew..

Mr Rowe,

that is exactly what I did when I first moved the site, and the borders were
not shared - should I try it again? thanks!

Steve, can you e-mail me direct at brad@ q o d b c . c o m plaease? I need
more details on your question before I can answer it, but we do offer real
time data access to the customer sales summary in QuickBooks via ODBC, and
yes there is a credit card transaction module. thanks!

Do you know how the site was originally upload to the remote server, was if
via FP's http mode?

When you look at your site in FP, are the shared border applied to each page
individually or set to use the web default?

They all work differently, not like a shared border at all, but rather
individual borders for each page. How do I make them all shared again?
thanks.

Can you provide a URL to this site?

it's the top header box i'm having trouble with. It was shared when the
developer sent it to me, but I have not been able to make it work since
publishing the copy he sent me. thanks.

Brad, it they were shared borders, you would have had to open the live/remote site in FP and then
publish to your local machine, you can not just copy a FP web between locations.

The developer would have had to zip the complete web directory and then send that to you.

There are no shared borders being used in the online site version of the site at
http://www.qodbc.com/
The html in head section does not have
<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="t, default">

But the top shared border page is there at
http://www.qodbc.com/_borders/top.htm
(you can save a copy from there)

To see if you have it locally use Tools Web/Site Setting Advanced - show hidden folders
- look in the _borders folder for top.htm

I tried both ways. I have the complete ZIP file, but was not able to make
the borders work so I tried publishing local, still did not work. I suppose
it's possible they were never shared. thanks.
