I have 2 Win/XP (Pro-SP2) systems connected to the Internet via a router to
DSL modem.

I started to set up a workgroup using Network Setup Wizard. I made a bunch
of typos and I now have a mess. How do I purge my garbage and start again?
(I assume that a collection of deletes of files and registry entries is
needed)

You cannot "delete" a workgroup or network configuration, the most you can
do is change the settings to those desired. I would assume that since you
used the Wizard the first time you would wish to use it again and put in the
correct configuration data this time.
