How prevent formulas to get external references/path to current workbook?

Hi,

I have worksheets with a lot of different formulas, some pointing to named
ranges, some to relative ranges and some to absolute ranges etc.
Sometimes does the ranges in the formulas and named ranges become equipped
with the path reference to the current workbook and also when I copy the
cells from the workbook to another workbook, the formulas still point to the
range into the earlier workbook.

What rules is it regarding this matter, and how can I ensure the formulas
AND named ranges always point to the workbook the formula current is within?
I don't want to have external references.

/ Thank you for any support

if you copy formulas from one workbook to another workbook excel will retain
the original workbook name....you can edit each formula to make sure the
workbook name refers t the workbook the formula is in or you can go to the
edit menu then links>edit links then navigate back to your current workbook
