How Much RAM is used by my system

Hi,
I am thinkning of adding more RAM (I have now 512K) to my system in order
to speed things up. I have seen the effect of this on my work PC.
My options are 512KB and 1GB. My main issue is that some of my PC programs
(e.g. Adobe Premiere) load slowly and since I am doing some video editing
(and simple DVD creation) I assume that added memory will help.
My question is if I can find out how much disk swapping my PC is doing and
to try to caculate how much memory it needs to minimize disk swapping.
What measure in the Task Manager represents that figure. I am running
windows XP Home and am using a P4 2.6 GHz.

if you are doing video editing add another gig, so you will have
1,5 gigs

If you want a small meter to see how much ram you have left and other info
you can use a small one I have made with samurize, but there are many
free ram indicator programs on the internet if you search

To get an absolute value for how much swap file is used try Doug Knox's XP
Pagefile monitor. It gives you a much better value for page file useage than
Task monitor. Task monitor measures page file useage in a different way
which isn't as reliable for deciding ram sizes.
